what a lovely stay at mount street house! the location is perfect for hitting the brecon beacons, and the staff were super friendly. loved the breakfast, especially the local produce and yummy porridge! our room was comfy with a nice view and had all the little extras we needed. it was really cozy and homey, felt like a little oasis.
only downside was the slight noise from other guests at times and the parking situation wasn't super convenient.

Came to Mount Street House for a lovely stay. The friendly Nigel made check-in quick and easy. Our Double Room was ready, well-equipped with fresh towels and toiletries. The breakfast was top-notch, cooked with local produce and plenty of options. I loved the cozy vegetarian full English served every morning—definitely a highlight! The room had a nice view, but the headroom was low on the top floor, which made it tricky for taller folks like myself. It felt a bit cramped as the bed placement limited movement. Still, the overall charm of the building and the helpful hosts made it feel welcoming. Would be great if there were better parking options available too.

Shower leaked, causing an unwanted midnight interruption with water cleanup. Low headroom on the top floor might be tricky for taller folks. Limited circulation space due to bed placement in the room made moving around awkward.

pleasant surprise with room size
I booked a double room and found it quite spacious despite being the smallest option. The breakfast variety impressed me. I faced the delightful challenge of choosing from numerous options each morning. the mountain view from the premises added a serene touch to my experience, making my stay feel more refreshing and peaceful.
The only issue was slight noise coming from the hallway during peak hours.

Spent a lovely weekend here and absolutely loved the cozy vegetarian full English breakfast served up each morning. The surprise of oat milk in the room! There are nice spots to unwind in the garden or lounge area, which really added to the chill vibes. The room was a bit chilly at times, but a small heater helped warm things up nicely. 😊
